Ruth Simons is a qualified Psychotherapist, and Registered Clinical Psychologist. Her primary practice is located on the Gold Coast and from time to time she conducts workshops and sees specific clients in Sydney.
Ruth has been working in the field of psychology and has run her own successful private practice as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Psychologist for the last 25 years.
Prior to setting up her practice, she worked for a Private Psychiatric hospital in Sydney for a 10-year period. She also currently lectures to the nursing faculty at the Gold Coast hospital and has been a lecturer at Queensland TAFE, Bond University and Griffith University.
Ruth Has recently been appointed as a member of the Psychologists Panel of Assessors for the Queensland Government for a term of five years, and she is the Vice president of the Australian College of Clinical Psychologists.
Ruth believes one of her major attributes is teaching people about why they behave the way they do and her private practice is widely acknowledged by the medical fraternity. She is highly sought after as a result of her considerable experience in understanding human behavior, and relationship and sexual therapy. In addition she specializes in treating people with anxiety and depression.
For the last eight years, Ruth has written a weekly column for the Gold Coast Bulletin titled “Sex, Lies, and Relationships” the same title as her book that was released in March, last year. She appears weekly on numerous radio stations right around Australia.. She is regularly asked to make appearances as guest speaker at major events.
She has been invited to speak and run workshops for major Australian corporate organizations in both Queensland and NSW. Ruth has also been invited to present her skills internationally and in that regard she has conducted workshops to more than 2000 people in Singapore, Kuala Lumpar and Penang.
